Official Illinois Natural History Survey Duties and Responsibilities:

(a) Conduct research on systematics, ecology, and evolution of fishes and aquatic Malacostraca; protection of aquatic natural areas

(b) Curate INHS collections of fishes (765,000 specimens), and crustaceans (165,000)

(c) Identify fishes and crustaceans submitted to INHS by other Illinois agencies, other professional biologists, etc.

M.S. and Ph.D. in Zoology, University of Illinois

B.S. in Biology, Illinois State University


Primary Research Interests:

Systematics, evolution, and ecology of freshwater fishes and Malacostraca; protection of aquatic natural areas.
