Our colleague, Dr. Warren U. Brigham, passed away suddenly on 7 August 1996. His obituary is available here, as printed in the November / December 1996 issue of Illinois Natural History Survey Reports (No. 342: 4; 6) and the Fall 1996 issue of the Bulletin of the North American Benthological Society 13(3): 369-370.

  Earlier work, plus two decade's of contributions of the Aquatic Coleoptera section of the Current and Selected Bibliographies on Benthic Biology of the North American Benthological Society (NABS), have produced a data base of more than 10,000 citations pertaining to water beetles. These are herewith made available online as a service to the scientific community. While this work may seem comprehensive, it is not complete. Citations are being added on a regular basis. The "Last Update" notice indicates such changes.

  The citations listed here were included in the Aquatic Coleoptera chapter of "Current and Selected Bibliographies on Benthic Biology - 1995." This annual bibliography was published by the North American Benthological Society in October, 1996, and distributed to all current members of the Society.
