Type in the American Museum of Natural History. Type Locality: United States, Florida, Taylor County, W. S. Genung.
Synonymy
None. Note, however, that Leng and Mutchler (1918) considered this species a junior synonym of Haliplus havaniensis Wehncke. Neither Zimmermann (1924) nor Wallis (1933) have accepted this synonymy. Wallis (1933) includes this species in the subgenus Paraliaphlus.
Distribution
United States: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia.
