Haliplus (Liaphlus) salmo Wallis 1933:61

Holotype male in the Canadian National Collection. Canada, Alberta, Jasper, Buffalo Point, 22.viii.1926, F. Neave.

In his description of Haliplus salmo, Wallis designated a holotype, allotype, and seven paratypes, noting "from the same locality [Buffalo Point] except one from Wabasso Lake, Jasper." Two paragraphs later, he stated "All of the known specimens of this insect were taken from the stomach of a trout, Salmo irideus Gibbomn, caught by...." If all were from "a trout", how could the type series come from two localities?

None.
