The purpose of the LEPC committee will be (1) development, training, and testing of a hazardous substances emergency response plan for Mason County; (2) development of procedures for regulated facilities to provide notification to the LEPC in accordance with Title III, SARA; (3) development of procedures for receiving and processing requests from the public under the community right-to-know provisions of Title III, SARA; and (4) provisions for public notification of committee activities. Also, to implement further related activities as may be legally required by the Federal Government, the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC), or the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
