Dear Central Division DAPTF Member:

I would like to this opportunity to introduce myself as the new DAPTF Central Division Coordinator and to distribute a copy of a document produced through the National Biological Survey entitled: A Proposed North American Monitoring Program. This document, sometimes referred to as the "white Paper", is being distributed through the DAPTF and several other groups. Please read it over and respond, as appropriate, to the biologist or biologists listed on the last page entitled: A Call to the Amphibian Research...Monitoring Techniques. If you have any comments about the proposal, send them directly to one of the authors. I would like to keep track of the Central Divisions involvement in this project so please copy me on any correspondence, whether it be comments on the proposal or your response to one of the six biologists listed on the last page. If you would like to be contacted directly by the NBS on future developments in this matter, sign up with Sam Droege according to the directions on the last page.

I apologize for the delay in sending this document, but it came on rather short notice and is a very large mailing. I'm still working out the bugs in my mailing system. This brings up the topic of E-mail. If you have E-mail, please send me your address. It will make things much easier in the future. My address is chrisp@denr1.igis.uiuc.edu Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about any DAPTF matter. If you know anyone who did not receive this mailing and would like to be on our list, send me a note with their name and address and I will add them.

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Christopher A. Phillips
