About the Authors

Christopher A. Phillips is Associate Research Scientist and Curator of Amphibians and Reptiles at the Illinois Natural History Survey, Center For Biodiversity, in Champaign. He received his Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis (1989). His major interests are ecology and evolution of amphibians and reptiles and population genetics. He lives in Mahomet, Illinois with his wife and two daughters.
 
Ronald A. Brandon is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Zoology and Curator of Herpetology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign (1962), he taught for a year at the University of Alabama then went on to Southern Illinois University where he retired in 1997. He continues research on the distribution, ecology, and natural history of amphibians and reptiles. He and his wife Doris live in Carbondale.
 
Edward O. Moll is Professor Emeritus of Zoology at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Utah (1968). He retired from EIU in 1998, but continues research on the distribution, ecology, and natural history of turtles. He and his wife Judy split their retirement living between Wisconsin and Arizona.
