Volunteer opportunities exist in research projects or at outreach events. Volunteering in research projects requires more than a one-time commitment; for liability reasons, volunteers need to have a zero-time appointment at the Survey. Inquire with specific scientists if you are interested. Volunteering for outreach events is much simpler, and does not require the same level of commitment. Events such as Insect Expo, ACES Open House, the new Invasive Species Expo, are examples of one-time options for someone to volunteer. Contact the CEE Office for information.
