2009 Herpetological Blitz (THIS CLASS IS NOW FULL)
The 2009 Illinois Wilds Institute for Nature (IWIN) class will be a Herpetological Blitz scheduled April 7-9, 2009. Participants will meet in Champaign at 10 am on April 7 and we will take a University of Illinois mini-bus and van to sites ranging from Kickapoo State Park, down the Wabash River Valley, across southern Illinois to LaRue-Pine Hills, and back up through the center of the state. Transportation and all food will be furnished and we will make room arrangements for participants (room costs are not part of the tuition). We hope to find 40-50 species on our trek. Instructors are Dr. Chris Phillips, Dr. Michael Dreslik, and Jen Mui. Registration is limited to 20 people, no exceptions. All class participants must have already taken an IWIN Reptiles and Amphibians class or have permission from the registrar to register for this class. Tuition is $225. Refund Policy
Payments for IWIN courses are fully refundable if cancellation occurs at least 14 days before the beginning of each course. If the cancellation is received fewer than 14 days before the start of the course, 50% of the tuition will be refunded. A full tuition refund may occur if we can find a replacement participant. If the cancellation occurs the day of the class, no refund will be given, but course materials will be sent to the participant. (We are usually at the course site the day before the class. Course Cancellation
A course with insufficient enrollment 7 days prior to the starting date will be canceled and a full refund issued within 30 working days. Participants will be notified by phone.
Organizers reserve the right to cancel a course within 2 days prior to the course due to a catastrophic weather event. Participants will be notified by phone and receive a full refund within 30 working days.
Charge for Families
If spouses register, there is no price break for the second person. If a parent and child (10-18 years old) enroll, the course fee is half price for the child. However, if the child pays half price, only one set of materials( e.g. field guides, handouts, collecting supplies, etc.) will be provided. Only one child is allowed per parent at the reduced price. If materials are desired for the child, full price must be paid. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
