Gastropods have:

  • a coiled shell - slugs and nudibranchs have lost their shells.
  • a muscular foot secretes mucus on which to glide.
  • a larval stage that undergoes torsion - a 180° twist.
  • asymmetrical bodies.
  • a pair of stalked eyes.
