  • Napaea dioica (glade mallow) [Malvaceae, Mallow Family]
    Illinois is the center of the geographic range for glade mallow. The natural habitat for this species is not know for sure, perhaps savannas that occured floodplains. The palmately lobed leave can be quite large, over a foot in diameter. There are separate male and female flowers, and these occur on different plants (the flowers are imperfect and the plants dioecious). 

     

  • Nothoscordum bivalve (false garlic, false garlic, crow poison) [Lilaceae, Lily Family]
