Activities I am a soil scientist with the Wetland Science Program. We delineate wetlands and hydric soil units throughout the state, conduct mitigation site assessments, and assist with mitigation site monitoring.
I participate in outreach with different organizations around the state speaking to various age groups about wetlands and soils.
I have been involoved with the planning and construction of raingardens in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Research
When time allows I am involved with research concerning different aspects of the invasion of Rhamnus cathartica (common buckthorn) in the Midwest.

I am Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Illinois Soil Classifiers Association.

I was very active in the North Central Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists. I created the original chapter brouchure and lead the group that created their traveling tabletop display board for use in regional meetings.
