    - KEY TO GRANIA OF NORTH AMERICA, BERMUDA, AND THE CARIBBEAN -

History of this site. This website for Grania (Annelida, Clitellata, Enchytraeidae) of North America, Bermuda, and the Caribbean, established by Jan M. Locke, Kathryn A. Coates, and Jason Ritter in 1999 (see Locke and Coates 2000), was initially hosted at the Bermuda Biological Station for Research, Inc. (BBSR). Recently, Ms. Locke, Drs. Coates and Brenda M. Healy, and I began more substantive collaboration on several projects focusing on the Enchytraeidae of North America and elsewhere in the World. Because I actively manage several websites associated with aquatic and terrestrial Annelida at the regional, North American, and global level, we decided that the Grania and other Enchytraeidae websites created and updated by Ms. Locke and Drs. Coates and Healy could more easily be maintained if also hosted here at the Illinois Natural History Survey. - - M.J. Wetzel
